Asbestos was a common building material until exposure was connected to adverse health effects. Many older buildings and homes still contain some type of asbestos. Asbestos fibers are invisible to the naked eye and can only be detected by laboratory analysis.
If you think your home has asbestos, we recommend having an asbestos inspection completed. Our licensed asbestos inspectors can identify the presence and location of asbestos in commercial buildings, schools, and private residences.
Where is Asbestos Found?
Asbestos was considered a miracle mineral for a long time because of its durability and heat resistance, making it the perfect material for so many things. Asbestos has been used in thousands of products including building supplies, automotive parts, ironing board covers, hair dyers, roof shingles, duct insulation, ceiling tiles, and much more.
Asbestos Inspections
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) both have guidelines that require asbestos inspections and asbestos surveys. OSHA requires asbestos testing and asbestos surveys to ensure a safe working environment for all occupants. The EPA specifies that you must complete an asbestos inspection before any demolition or remodel of a commercial, educational or multi-unit residential building.
